La Rentrée

Students went back to school in France today, and soon the assistants will be joining them. Nothing says back-to-school quite like the massive sales -- I saw tons of children trotting around town today with new backpacks. So cute!

I'm back from my trip now and am glad to see that everything went more or less smoothly in my absence. Much thanks to Judy for her awesome work moderating the forums. We have had a rise in spammers (I'm sure some of you have noticed) in the last month, but otherwise the remaining problems are minor. As for the spam, we just have to stay on top of it, and I'm going to be putting in a few bells and whistles that keep spammers from creating new accounts. Hopefully that will put a stop to it, or at least slow it down.

If you notice any suspicious behavior, though, please email me about it. I don't have time to check the site every day, but I do like it to be running as seamlessly as possible. If you send me a note, I'll be sure to respond.

Thanks, and good luck in your early days of the assistantship!

Comments

Not really commenting on the notes, but I just want to know if it always takes this long to receive the arrete. I haven't got mine as yet and I don't know what I can do on my side in terms of finding accommodation. Can you give me some advice?

Jamila - I know that some people didn't get it until mid-September. A definite pain for you, though. Maybe you should ask around in the forums and see when other people in your académie got theirs?

Hi. I'm afraid you'll have to find accommodation by yourself. The tutors should help, but unfortunately they don't most of the time. If you're going to Lille, I'll be happy to help you.
