September 2008 Archives

La Rentrée 2008 is here!

Students across France go back to school today. That means there is only one month left before assistants start working. Hopefully you've received your arrêté and successfully applied for your visa (if you're not an EU citizen.) Even if you haven't, don't worry too much. Arrêtés get lost in the mail every year and things always work out in the end. Learning to be patient is an important part of living in France anyway!

Your school and/or responsable will hopefully be in touch with you soon if they haven't already sent you an e-mail. Again, don't worry if they don't write. Some schools have no idea that they are getting an assistant until you arrive and tell them who you are.

Post your questions and fears in the forums and check the links (in the right column) for more information about the program if you're still feeling unprepared. Remember that thousands of assistants come to France every year from various countries, so you are not alone!

Bon courage à tous et à toutes !
