Last Minute Idea for after the holidays

Postby KBarnes » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:34 am

SO, I had a 5eme class today and not an idea what I was going to do with them, but I came up with this and it worked really well, it's called Amnesia:

AMNESIA

PROBLEM: Your assistant got amnesia over the break and can't remember anything about her students?
SOLUTION: help her remember by interviewing your partner and then presenting him or her to the class. Your assistant will have to listen carefully and see if she can repeat the information back to the class. If she succeeds, she gets a point, if not the class gets a point.
The students got a chance to practise their vocabulary from the previous term and practise orally and the teacher loved it!

Low preparation time:
Create a list of interview questions (4-5) and then if their level is low perhaps write the format structure on the board.

Hope this helps someone

This one was really successful with my BTS students:

You will tell us what you did for Christmas OR New Year's Eve (minimum 2-3 sentences). The next person will tell us what he/she did and will repeat everything that has already been said by other students.

They correct all the mistakes as they progress and are so proud when I tell them they're speaking error free English. Even a few normalement pénibles surprised me.
